L.A. Superstar Shohei Ohtani

Remember when L.A. welcomed the biggest baseball player in the world to our fair city? It’s an ohtanimlb.com flashback to when Shohei Ohtani first signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Back in December 2023, Ohtani became a L.A. Dodger. When we say every team wanted him, we mean every team wanted Shohei Ohtani. Out of all the franchises, the Japanese megastar chose our City of Angels. News spread like wildfire and set this town on fire. Like the star he is, the Dodgers, MLB and Fox Sports welcomed Ohtani with the city’s most famous landmark, the Hollywood sign. So iconic, the sign was recently featured in the Closing Ceremonies of the 2024 Olympics.

Only eight months since his signing, we have all witnessed Ohtani establishing himself as an L.A. superstar. Like the Kool and the Gang song says, when Shohei Ohtani plays, it’s “Hollywood swinging” now.
